CHRISTOPHER KUHNER
Christopher Kuhner has practiced criminal defense and personal injury law in the Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas since 1997. Christopher has focused his practice on DWI defense, and routinely tries DWI cases before juries. Over the past several years, Christopher has been successful in obtaining not guilty verdicts or reduction offers for over half of his clients who contested their DWI charges. Christopher has authored a helpful and informative manual entitled "What Should I Expect from my First DWI: Frequently Asked Questions About DWI in Tarrant County, Texas." (A copy of this manual is available on this website.) Christopher Kuhner is a tireless advocate for personal rights and civil liberties, and has testified before state legislative committees in Texas and Oregon regarding proposed law changes that would affect your rights as a citizen. During the 2005 session, Christopher Kuhner testified before the Texas State Legislature against proposed DWI legislation that would have taken away a Texan’s rights to refuse a breath test. The bill was defeated in committee.
Christopher Kuhner takes pride in sharing his knowledge with fellow
attorneys, and is often a speaker at “CLE” (continuing
legal education) seminars. Christopher Kuhner has spoken before
the Texas Society of DWI Technology Information Exchange in 2002
on the topic of “Defending Felony DWIs at Trial”, and
in 2004 on the topic of “Jury Selection and Strike-for-Cause
Vior Dire Questions in DWI Trials.” In 2005, Christopher Kuhner
spoke before the Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association on the
subject of “The Nuts and Bolts of Representing Clients with
Criminal Cases in Tarrant County, Texas.
Christopher Kuhner attended Tulane Law School in New Orleans, where
he received his Juris Doctor degree in 1995. Christopher began his
law career in Portland Oregon, where he clerked for the Criminal
District Court judges in Multnomah County. He also served as legislative
assistant to State Senator Jeanette Hamby, who sat on the Crime
and Corrections Committee in the Oregon State Legislature. In 1997,
Christopher returned to his native Texas, and has served in private
practice in Dallas/Fort Worth area ever since. Christopher is licensed
to practice law in Texas and Oregon.
